Reading is an integral part of the whole writing process; integral means an essential part of writing. One technique that we can use to start our writing activity is to integrate the important points of what we have read; this activity can help us to have a clear picture of what we have already read, and this in itself entails active and focused reading activity. Reading in writing activities is an essential part for the students. When we start to read a newspaper article, book, or something on the internet, we skim to find the important points. Before we start the reading activity, we should know some steps to make our activity easier. These are the steps to take when we want to create the right reading environment. Start by setting aside some reading time where we will not be interrupted, we should prepare paper and a pen to take notes, do not expect to be able to make any useful sense of our reading if we are tired, stressed, and so on. Academics find it simple to repeat and read the articles and books. When we are thinking about reading, first, we should choose a type of reading that is familiar to us; then, we should choose a book or article we are having to read at the moment for our studies, and we can start our reading activity.

If we have some assignments, we can start choosing our reading for the assignment, but we should know how to get the best references for our assignment. First, we can do library research and start to find the references relevant to our assignment, then decide which will be the most useful for our assignment. We can start with the index and look up the relevant words and subjects until we find the important points in the book. We can spend a little bit of extra time working with the index and checking different sections of the book before we start reading. We can use our reading list to get hold of publications; we can check the index and title to check a publication's relevance; and we can use highlighters and different colored pencils for the photocopying. When students start working on the reading, they express that they need to make repeated readings of the same material. We can know the differences between wild swans and social literacies books starting from the chapter, the short and long sentence, the references, the uniform and different typefaces, and so on. Sometimes we find things different in the text, like the vocabulary, sentences, ideas expressed, and we can find yourself having to read a text because reading is a essential activity.
Reading is part of the writing process because when we start reading, we will also take notes about the important points in it. We can then do an analysis related to the differences from the text and we can reading and find relevant references related to the assignment.
