What Kind of Writer You Are? - #Assignment-2

 

The Kinds of Structure in University Writing ✍🏻

When we start practicing writing something, of course we need an appropriate and different writing strategy so that later we can find the easiest way for us to apply it in writing activities and produce good and clear writing results. Now, we learn about some structures in university writing that we can use, namely:

- Chronology writing, this writing structure, describes the timeline. The events are during a certain period and are usually used in history. For example, we can try to write a chronology of our day, starting when we wake up and ending when we go to bed.

- Description writing, we can try to write and describe details about something. For example, we can write about the characteristics of elephants in detail so that the readers know about the explanation from the text. 

- Cause and effect writing is the structure that describes the relationship between two events. We can know the cause of something else and also the effect of that. This structure relates events to each other and is an important way of representing a relationship between something. You can start to analyze and think more complexly about this structure.

- Compare and contrast writing, this structure indicates the similarities and differences between two things. You can explain more about each of them; for example, you can write about the characteristics between a tiger and a lion so you can compare them with your explanation. We can concern ourselves with the way the writing is organized or shaped, which you can choose as the writer.

- Summary writing: in summary writing structure, you should write and give the main points from the article or book. You should make the specific part from the topic that you already discussed so that you can explain relevant points from the book or article to the readers again.

Analysis writing, this structure is deeper to explain about something. We should being analytical to know and searching the answer when we facing the questions like, ‘what does this mean’ or ‘why is this important’.  We should make a big statement before we start to write or analyze about something.

Evaluating writing, this writing structure is different from the kind of judgement. In this structure you can suggest about the certain attitudes or important information. In university life this evaluating writing is relate to be analytical about something, because we try to find the problems from the text or something that we write.

After we learn about some structures used in university writing, can you decide what kind of writer you are? Based on the explanations that have been given, whatever type of writer you are, you must be able to provide clear knowledge and explanations about something you write so that readers can find out everything that you convey from these results. Find your own way and strategy until, finally, you become a reliable writer using a method that is easier for you. 📝
